attack. >> a hacker group claims it stole personal information aboutapple device owners from an fbi laptop. fox 5's melanie alnwick has more. >> reporter: good morning. it is not clear yet whether the exposure of that information could be personally damaging to apple customers. apple itself has not commented yet on the breach of information. the responsible group, which calls itself anti-sec as in anti-security, says it released the information published it basically to let the public know what kind of information the fbi is collecting. every apple device has a unique identification number which lets itunes and app developers know which device is running which app. for example, the id could allow game developers to keep track of users' high scores. the hacker group anti-sec says it actually found 12 million apple ids on an fbi agent's laptop. anti-sec says the data file had user names, zip codes, cell phone numbers and addresses but chose just to post the device name and number. the group says the fbi is using apple device information for a tracking people project in its own words.
